Country music star Randy Travis was admitted to a Texas hospital in critical condition on Sunday, according to his reps.

The 54-year-old Grammy-award winning musician was hospitalized due to complications from a viral cardiomyopathy he contracted recently. During a prolific career that started with his debut album in 1986, Travis won seven Grammy Awards, most recently in 2009 for a duet he did with Carrie Underwood, “I Told You So.” Travis has made 16 No. 1 hits in the U.S. during his career, which began in the 1980s.
