The governor is throwing his support to a Queens Democrat who's in a tight race to keep his state Senate seat.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters Monday during the Columbus Day Parade that he has endorsed state Sen. Joe Addabbo for re-election.
"Political courage, which is what Sen. Joe Addabbo displayed, should be encouraged, not discouraged," he said.
Addabbo is facing off against Republican City Councilman Eric Ulrich, who trails the incumbent by two points in a Siena College poll released Monday. Cuomo and Addabbo both attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens.
