After a successful first six months in office capped by the historic legalization of same-sex marriage in New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday danced around but wouldn’t rule out a presidential run in 2016.
“Obviously 2016, it’s silly,” Cuomo said on Talk 1300-AM in Albany.
However, when pressed about whether he’s already dismissed running after his first term is up, the Democratic governor said “no,” but declined to “engage or fuel the speculation.”
His political achievements so far include hammering out an on-time budget with the Legislature and pushing for an expansion of rent regulations and a statewide property tax cap.
