Days before faceoff with Jets, Tom Brady's hair takes spotlight
The Patriots and Jets don’t have their showdown until Monday night, but quarterbacks Tom Brady and Mark Sanchez are already going “head to head.”
Brady’s ever-evolving hairstyle – and reportedly thinning hair – was the subject of a bald-faced insult by his former New England Patriots teammate, Damien Woody, who now plays for the Jets.
“That long stuff that Tom has going on – that ain’t happening,” the offensive lineman told TMZ.com on Monday night after leaving a Manhattan theater.
Woody prefaced his comment by picking Sanchez, 24, as having the better hairdo over Brady, 33. He also considers the Patriots quarterback of being more “Hollywood” because he’s married to Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen.
It’s reportedly Brady’s supermodel wife who is demanding he tackle his tresses and made him consult a hair transplant specialist in Rhode Island.
Bundchen “wants to maintain that perfect-couple image – the handsome quarterback with a head full of hair and the stunning model with her own long flowing locks,” according to the National Enquirer.
Brady had been sporting a Justin Bieber-style mop top before letting a shaggier style take over his scalp. He said earlier this month he doesn’t plan to chop it off.
Regardless of whether Brady is actually going bald, many fans just don’t adore his current ‘do. More than 50 Facebook pages and groups are now criticizing his coif. Among them: “Tom Brady Please Cut Your Friggin’ Hair” and “Even Justin Bieber Is Mocking Tom Brady’s Hair.”
