Bill de Blasio spent Sunday spreading his campaign message at Bronx churches.

The city's public advocate spoke at the morning services at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 222nd Street and Church of our Savior in Co-op City. De Blasio also hit the streets in the afternoon heat to greet voters in his home borough of Brooklyn at Plaza Street West and Union Street.

Also Sunday, his office sent a letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo seeking to prevent the closure of Long Island College Hospital and Interfaith Medical Center, both of which are facing financial troubles.

"Every one of us in public office has a responsibility to fight to the upmost to keep LICH and Interfaith open. That needs to be our bottom line," De Blasio said in the letter.
