Two people were killed in a gruesome accident on the Major Deegan Expressway early Thursday when the driver lost control and slammed into a concrete pillar, police said.

The 30-year-old driver of the Chrysler Charger was headed northbound and moving erratically when the crash occurred at 12:25 a.m., according to the NYPD. He was killed, along with a 16-year-old male front seat passenger.

Three other passengers -- ages 16, 18 and 21 -- suffered serious body trauma and were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition. Police didn't immediately identify the victims.
