Demi Lovato must be singing a happy tune.
The former Disney star is the front-runner for a judge's position on "The X Factor," inching ahead contenders like Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, LeAnn Rimes and Fergie, TMZ.com reported Wednesday, noting that the 19-year-old hasn't gotten an official offer.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears is still expected to take the other empty spot at the judge's table, in a deal that could be worth $15 million. Paperwork has not yet been signed, but an agreement is “expected” to be reached.
“The X Factor” — Simon Cowell’s talent competition show — has two vacant seats for the upcoming season, after Cowell gave former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger the boot earlier this year.
“I would love to have [Spears] on the show,” Cowell, who also serves as a judge on the show, told “TMZ Live” last month. “I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to.”
