Derek Jeter shouldn't have to worry about aggravating his quadriceps injury if he continues to take home run trots like the one he took in his first at-bat Sunday.

Playing in his first game since July 11 -- and just his second this season -- Jeter sent the first pitch he saw over the right-center field wall for a solo homer at Yankee Stadium.

It was the Yankees' first home run since July 14, a drought of nine games. Jeter, who singled in his second at-bat, finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Bombers won 6-5. Newly acquired Alfonso Soriano's single in the bottom of the ninth inning drove home Brett Gardner for the game-winning score.

Prior to straining his quadriceps earlier this month, Jeter, 39, was recovering from a fractured ankle that he suffered in last season's American League Championship Series.
