Rapper G. Dep, a former Sean "Puffy" Combs protégé, will spend at least 15 years behind bars after confessing to an 18-year-old murder.
G. Dep, born Trevell Coleman, was handed a minimum sentence of 15 years to life Tuesday morning for fatally shooting a Queens man during a botched robbery in 1993.
The entertainer had walked into a Harlem police precinct two years ago to confess to the crime, solving John Henkel's murder case, which had long gone cold.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus reportedly acknowledged the rapper's "maturity and decency" for coming forward.
