Dwight Howard may finally be headed to Brooklyn after all.

The star center - whose chances of landing with the Nets seemed to be doomed in March when he signed an addendum to his contract to keep him in Orlando through next season - is at the heart of a three-team trade with the Nets and the Cavaliers that could involve as many as 14 players, according to the New York Post and Yahoo.

The resulting deal could team up Howard with Deron Williams and newly acquired Joe Johnson to form the Nets' version of the "Big Three," in their first season in Brooklyn.

The Lakers appeared to be the front-runner to land Howard, who pledged his loyalty to Orlando just months ago, but the deal between the two has been held up by Andrew Bynum, who reportedly does not want to sign an extension if traded.

Now, the Nets are back in the driver's seat, with the Magic reportedly intent on receiving multiple first-round draft picks in any deal.

The Magic and the Nets played each other in summer league action Monay, with Orlando winning 92-88 at home. Nets guard MarShon Brooks - who has been heavily linked to a move out of Brooklyn in the latest round of trade rumors - was among the participants.

He scored just three points on 0-10 shooting, though he denied that the uncertainty about his future affected his play.

"You have to stay out of those things and just come to work," Brooks said. "Try to focus on the game. I understand it's a profession and I'm a professional. When I'm playing, I don't think about it.
