Emily Maynard engaged to Jef Holm

"Bachelorette" Emily Maynard is an engaged woman - but not without causing a little drama on the way.

Maynard, a 26-year-old single mom, said "yes" when Jef Holm proposed to her on Sunday's season finale, however, she gave a loaded pause before she accepted.

"Really I just wanted to soak in the moment and really make a decision for my heart," Maynard said on "Good Morning America" Monday.

"I've taken a lot of heat for it, too - trust me," she added.

Holm, 28, is planning to move to Charlotte, N.C., where his fiancee lives with her 6-year-old daughter, Ricki.

"I'm going to get a separate place there," the Utah-based entrepreneur said. "We're going to combine our lives."
