Eva Longoria Parker files for divorce
Just a day after Eva Longoria Parker denied reports that her husband, Tony Parker, had filed for divorce, news comes that the “Desperate Housewives” star was actually the one who initiated the split.
“It is with great sadness that after seven years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce,” she tweeted Wednesday. “We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.”
According to People magazine, the 35-year-old actress filed for divorce from her husband of three years Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
Those differences? Sources told Us Weekly that the San Antonio Spur, 28, had been exchanging “personal” texts with a mutual female friend for almost a year — racking up hundreds in just a month.
The woman reportedly is Erin Barry, the wife of Brent Barry, one of Parker’s teammates, Sports Illustrated writer Bryan Armen Graham tweeted yesterday.
A source told Us Weekly that Parker confessed to the texting after his wife confronted him.
“Once the trust was lost, the marriage was over,” a souce said. “Eva truly thought she was going to grow old with Tony and have children with him. She’s inconsolable.”
Longoria Parker reportedly is seeking spousal support.
