Family of missing Autistic boy set to sue city: Report
The family of the 14-year-old autistic boy who went missing last Friday has taken the first step toward suing the city, according to published reports.
Avonte Oquendo disappeared from the Center Boulevard School in Long Island City, sparking a citywide search for the teen, who cannot communicate verbally.
An attorney for his family Thursday filed a notice with the city that claims negligence by the school staff let Avonte leave the school, according to the Daily News.
Officials Thursday night were still searching. There is a $10,000 reward for information.
