Fashion and music meet yet again

Style has always gone well with music and that’s still true based on the new collaboration between two-time Grammy-nominated DJ Avicii and Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren. They will release the first official music video for “Wake Me Up,” the first single from Avicii’s Sept. 17 album, “True” (PRMD/Island Records).

The video was directed by celebrated American photographer Mark Seliger, and merges the hallmarks of Avicii’s driving beats and uplifting melodies with the free-spirited aesthetic of the Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren brand.

“Wake Me Up” tells a universal story about finding your place in the world.
Avicii is a Swedish born DJ, remixer and record producer. The artist, whose real name is Tim Bergling, is taking the U.S. by storm.

We got the inside scoop on his love for New York and who he likes better, Swedish women or all-American women.

AI loved working with Mark Seliger on the photography for the Denim & Supply Campaign, so it seemed like a natural extension of our creative relationship with the brand and with Mark.

A: Have to represent my home country, so — Swedish girls!

A: It’s pretty basic; plaid shirt or hoodie with jeans, and usually a hat.

A: Ah, who knows! Ever since I started producing, music was all I cared about.

A: So many different things inspired me but my goal was to create something new and different. When making “True,” I wanted to explore what I could do personally, while making the most out of all the amazing people I was working with. I wasn’t necessarily making music that would only work during a set; it was me trying to make music that was emotional. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

A:I love all of the songs, so it’s tough to choose, but “Hey Brother” is definitely one of my favorites.

A: It’s just an incredible city… I love how much culture it has.
