The ultimate “behind the seams” experience, Stitched was created by Joe Zee, creative director of Elle magazine, and Rob Younkers, fashion designer and adjunct associate professor at Parsons, the New School for Design.
The fashion camp for kids encourages adolescents’ love of fashion, with a goal of nurturing creativity and passion for it. This summer at Guild Hall in East Hampton, your children can learn to create anything from a great custom tee to their own fabric and create a design that is unique.
Under the guidance of instructors and industry insiders, participants will be guided through the entire design process from “beginning to hemmed.” Burgeoning designers will develop a concept, create inspiration boards, design fabric and color stories, and illustrate a six-look collection for spring/summer 2014. The young designers will then turn their ideas into runway- ready garments.
The two-week camp runs Aug. 5-16 for $1,850, and the one-week camp, Aug. 12-16, is $925.
