ADAM designer Adam Lippes found his inspiration for spring 2012 in a catwalk of sorts — the High Line, or the “runway in the sky,” as he calls it.

Lippes, whose studio is located in West Chelsea, found himself mesmerized by the airy feeling of the elevated park in juxtaposition with the strong colors the patrons wear.

The result: ADAM’s Saturday show, filled with garden-ready looks in pinks, purples, whites, grays and blacks. The girly florals, polka dots and bird prints kept the feeling of the collection fresh and oh-so-springy, even on the darker pieces.
