Alexander Wang

These days, it’s all about the hybrid, whether you’re pedaling a bike or rocking a four-wheel drive. And now Alexander Wang has reinvented the concept for fashion. It’s about time, given how lame previous attempts have been (anyone remember the “skort”?!).

The wunderkind designer’s strong, intellegent Fall 2011 show presented a parade of blended styles that included a knit hoodie that morphed into a leather poncho, puffer peacoats, a tux cutaway jacket with fur sleeves and a merino vest and turtleneck with zip-off peplums hanging off the back. Even a delicate silky skirt got sexier with carwash-like strips of fabric dangling in the breeze.

A major standout? Sunglasses with mink-wrapped temples to keep your glasses in place and your ears warm.
