amNewYork caught up with designer Erin Fetherston, who shows her ERIN by Erin Fetherston line Sept. 5 at Milk Made at The Standard, to talk all things Fashion Week -- including a (gasp!) blonde-hair nightmare.

What’s your Fashion Week motto?
Just have fun. Don’t take any of it too seriously.

What will you wear to your own show?
An ERIN dress, of course.

What was your biggest Fashion Week mishap ever?
My hair is so blonde that I constantly have to do clarifying treatments to combat the funny shades of blue and green it absorbs from New York City tap water. One season, I asked my colorist to give me a clarifying treatment the morning of my show. Something went wrong, and my hair ended up turning gray! We had to immediately launch into a series of emergency corrective shampoo and rinsing treatments, which made me nearly two hours late to my own call time!

Ever commit any Fashion Week faux pas?
When I was a student in design school, I definitely found ways to sneak into fashion shows.

What's the first thing you'll do once Fashion Week is over?
Start designing pre-fall 2013.
