How many ways can Max Azria reinvent his Hervé Léger line's signature bondage dress? Oh so many.
And for spring 2012 — which he showcased Tuesday — Azria went with a palette of metallics (silvers, bronzes and golds), nudes and blacks, accented by weaving, braiding, macrame and fringe (and a harness or two, which was quite a lot atop a skintight dress).
Standout styles were the handful of dresses whose beading and weaving created an almost Aztec-feeling print, which popped in a sea of solids.
Completing the look were each model's gladiator boots, which featured cut-outs and felt like an extension of the bandage-dress aesthetic.
