Prints dominated the Lela Rose runway, covering everything from silk tops to gowns. The designs were obscured images from the works of artist Gerhard Richter and ranged dramatically — some resembling navy-blue paint splotches, others a blue-and-green ocean.
The show began with day-appropriate skirts, pants and jackets, and crescendoed into skirts, cocktail dresses and gowns of printed feathers, chiffon and hand-loomed organza.
Complementing the collection perfectly was the covetable — and affordable — footwear from Lela Rose for Payless. The chunky, textured styles (a mary-jane pump, mary-jane wedge, bootie, mid-calf bootie and classic dress heel) screamed “fall!” in shades of emerald and gray.
