A mini heatwave struck NYC on Friday, and Mara Hoffman’s bright, colorful show appropriately took place in the middle of it.

For spring 2012, Hoffman — known for her eye-catching prints and pigmented shades — took inspiration from the personal styles of Mexican women. That translated most noticeably to custom-destined prints — including an abstract tribal print with pops of neon and a black-and-white woven design. Embroidery and seed beading made the collection of jumpsuits, dresses, shorts and blouses more interesting.

Topping the looks off was the intricate hair — courtesy of Nick Irwn for TIGI — which was piled high and wrapped in strips of fabric from the collection.
