Fashion Week: Monique Lhuillier fall 2011 show report
We'd liken Monique Lhuillier’s fall 2011 show to a decadent meal.
The starters — though a tad bland — whetted our appetites with plenty of jacquard and cheetah-print pants and cocktail dresses that were pretty and impeccably tailored.
The entrees consisted of delightfully billowy chiffon blouses in both nude and lipstick-red that tied at the neck and were paired with slim black slacks. Rounding out the fare were mid-calf feathered dresses, feathered skirts and black skirt suits with lace details.
Of course, Lhuillier saved her signature gowns for dessert, sending out a breathtaking succession of sweeping ball gowns suited for red carpets and society galas. Some standouts: a scarlet ostrich gown, a black tulle mermaid gown with an embellished bodice and a leopard print taffeta ball gown with a chantilly-lace corset neckline.
