Fashion Week: Rebecca Minkoff spring 2012 show report
Rebecca Minkoff pulled inspiration from her recent time in the desert, embodying in her collection the fading and weathering that clothing exposed to the elements there would endure.
Jeans had a washed-and-worn look; burnout prints were everywhere; and the color palette was dominated by faded grays, reds and blues. Meanwhile, the designer juxtaposed the softness of a handful of the garments with touches of toughness in the forms of harness detailing and cut-outs.
Of note at Monday's show: the models' poofed-out curls, which stood out during a week that’s seen mostly slicked-back 'dos.
