Fashion Week: Rebecca Taylor spring 2012 show report

Rebecca Taylor’s fashion show Friday was the modern girl’s beauty pageant.

Instead of wearing satin sashes, a handful of models donned a string of pearls draped from shoulder to opposite hip. And instead of putting on cringe-worthy pageant gowns, Taylor’s gals showed off cool metallics, chiffon dresses with graphic prints, voluminous pieces of outerwear, backless tops in knit and sequin and garments with unexpected cut-outs.

Taylor’s signature leopard print made an appearance only in detailing — on the heels and ankle straps of some of the shoes — yet left a striking impression as the models stomped the runway.
