It was boy meets girl meets boy at Richard Chai on Thursday. The show featured men’s and women’s looks (from Chai’s Love line) seemed interchangeable — well, at least the prints and fabrics were.
A coral-and-purple floral covered a long skirt and a dress as well as a men’s short-sleeve shirt. A striped slim-cut trouser was worn beneath an asymmetrical tunic on a female model, and the stripes also graced tuxedo pants on a male model.
The standout items for guys were Chai’s interesting takes on suiting, most notably a striped pair of shorts and matching jacket. For gals, we loved the print-mixing and spot-on layering.
One cool touch: Some of the female models wore pops of bright blue or bright purple lipstick on their pouts.
