Vivienne Tam took us on a journey to the Zen gardens of Asia for spring 2012, inspired by her own annual ritual of self-reflection amidst the natural beauty there.
At her show Saturday, pieces moved and flowed with an easy elegance — and the rich, nature-based color palette, including coral, cyan and chartreuse, made the looks simply striking.
Orchids and flower petals bloomed, while bamboo took root in the form of prints on pants and jackets. Some patterns served as an accent, while others dominated a look. Most scene-stealing: a sweeping garden-print chiffon gown with waterfall sleeves.
