Fireworks between Katy Perry and John Mayer?

Katy Perry must have a thing for bad boys.

The ex-wife of Russell Brand reportedly is now dating singer John Mayer, who has infamously dished publicly about his former sex partners.

The two singers were photographed together this week leaving Los Angeles hotspot the Chateau Marmont, where they reportedly went on a dinner date.

According to People magazine, Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, have gone out a few times and have been talking on the phone - but that's it ... for now.

"I don't think either of them are trying for anything serious right now," a friend of Perry's told People. "She's not talking like he's 'The One.' She's comfortable around guys who understand the craziness of that world, which he definitely does."

Mayer famously revealed intimate details about ex-GF Jessica Simpson in a 2010 Playboy interview, saying their relationship was "sexually crazy," and has also dated the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift.

Perry and Brand split in late 2011.
