"Client 9" returned Monday night with an unlikely new companion.
Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, brought down in a 2008 call-girl scandal, joined conservative columnist Kathleen Parker on the debut of their new CNN talk show, “Parker Spitzer.”
The show opened with Spitzer joking about being a “recovering” politician, saying the show is “step one” and that he’ll “move beyond” it.
“We’re praying for you,” Parker quipped.
The duo quickly jumped into their opening arguments. Spitzer said President Barack Obama should fire Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, and Parker called for Sarah Palin to reveal whether she’ll run for president in 2012.
But political consultant Hank Sheinkopf said Spitzer’s in no position to be giving advice.
“[Spitzer] has no history as a television host, has a bad history as a dysfunctional governor, has been involved scandals … It’s ridiculous to assume he can be the arbiter of any kind of analysis,” he said.
