Four-alarm fire in Brooklyn leaves 9 families homeless, American Red Cross says
The American Red Cross says it has found temporary housing for nine families that have been left homeless by a four-alarm fire in Brooklyn.
More than 150 firefighters battled the blaze in Saturday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
The Fire Department of New York was called to the Hemlock Street home around 2:30 p.m. It's in the Cypress Hills neighborhood.
The Red Cross says it will return to the building Sunday morning to see if further assistance is needed.
