Foodies in Brooklyn will soon have even more options at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Four new eateries - Luke's Lobster, No. 7 Sub, Ample Hills Creamery and Fornino - The Art & Science of Pizza - are set to open this summer in the Pier 5, Pier 6 and Fulton Ferry Landing/DUMBO sections of the park.
"With the addition of these four concessions ... BBP is quickly becoming a destination for the foodie in all of us," said Regina Myer, Brooklyn Bridge Park president. "Park visitors can choose from a variety of food choices from some of the city's most notable restaurateurs."
Here's a look at the park's four new concession options:
Currently there are six locations in Manhattan, and the Brooklyn location will also include non-lobster fare like gluten-free soups and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Started in 2010, No. 7 Sub is a relatively new sandwich chain that has three locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The shop prides itself on its unusual sandwich combinations, including a sub made with braised red cabbage and beets, red onions and red curry mayo that the chain's chef Tyler Kord promotes on No. 7's web site.
Ample Hills will offer eight flavors of ice cream in the park - no word if its Salted Crack Caramel and Butter Pecan Brittle will make the cut.
Michael Ayoub, the chef at Fornino - The Art & Science of Pizza, has been called a "pizza god" in the past, at least according to Fornino's website. We're not sure whether his skills are actually divine, but Fornino's pizzas are wood-fired. Other specialties like boccacino sandwiches will also be sold. The pizzeria will also open a rooftop beer garden.
