Fox sends Gawker legal threat for 'Fox Mole' stories

Fox News has sent a legal threat to Gawker for its "Fox Mole" columns, which dished dirt on the network, penned by a man claiming to have been a Fox associate producer.

In the columns, published daily since Tuesday, are details of working at the network, including insider photos and videos.

The mole, Joe Muto, was found out less than 24 hours after the first column and wrote a post admitting it was him. He was fired Wednesday.

"Muto's admissions are admissions of likely criminal and civil wrongdoing on both his and Gawker's part," reads a letter sent to Gawker Thursday by a lawyer representing Fox. "Fox News will pursue its rights and remedies in the appropriate legal forums."

Gawker paid Muto $5,000 for the columns, according to Forbes.
