"America's Most Wanted" helped capture dangerous fugitives, but it couldn’t quite capture any money.

The long-running Fox show was axed yesterday after a nearly continuous weekly run since 1988, with network execs saying, "We have not made money on the show in quite a while," The New York Times reported.

Fox said the show will still run in two-hour specials every three months because the network "wanted to keep the franchise alive." The show's website claims to have helped capture 1,151 fugitives.
