With big, joyous choruses that embrace the extravagant theatricality of a Broadway production and old-school, buoyant pop music, "Aim and Ignite" -- the 2009 debut album from the NYC band fun. -- was a refreshing change of pace from the often-morose rock coming out of Brooklyn.
The band is now gearing up for its new record, "Some Nights," and hits the Bowery Ballroom Wednesday night. While the album doesn't drop till February, the excellent first single, "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monae, has given fans a taste of what's to come.
amNewYork spoke with fun. frontman Nate Ruess about three reasons they love being in New York.
