Go ahead, be trendy. This season’s styles are as easy to wear as they are affordable. From fur to menswear to military, here is our cheat sheet to getting three irresistible fall runway looks for less.

THE TREND: MILITARY
Shades of green and camouflage prints continue to flood the runways and our closets this season. The key to wearing this trend is choosing clothing and accessories in various shades of green and textures, mixing and matching to avoid a uniform look.

Hair: For a chic messy updo, prep hair with a volumizer and add styling cream to prevent frizz and add shine. Use a small curling iron for lots of texture, and pull into loose bun. Pull pieces out around the face as desired. (Oscar Blandi hair gloss, $19; at sephora.com)

Makeup: Green shadow or liner can be worn on any skin tone, and it's a great way to make eyes pop during cooler months. Start with a lid primer — it's important to absorb oils and keep shadow on longer. Pair a copper shadow with green liner and add green shadow over it. The flat corner of a makeup sponge can be used to apply green shadow to the lower lashes — use a damp sponge for more impact. Keep lips nude. (L’Oreal Paris smoky eye quad in Forest Smokes, $5.99; at drugstores. glominerals gold primer, $24; at gloskincare.com)

THE TREND: MENSWEAR

Menswear-inspired clothing is a must-have this season. Whether it is a full suit or a blazer and tweed slacks, pair it with a girly blouse, sweater or accessories for that added feminine touch. Remember, tailored pieces are key; it’s not the “boyfriend” look.

On Lauren:
MICHAEL Michael Kors sweater, $89.50, Marc by Marc Jacobs blazer, $428, and Anne Klein pants, $195; all at Bloomingdale’s. Nine West sandals, $99; at Nine West. H&M muff, $17.95, and leg warmers, $5.95; at H&M. Banana Republic chain belt, $49.50; at Banana Republic. Treesje studded belt, $178; at treesje.com

Hair: Prep with a smoothing product. Take out a triangle section on top at hairline, and fold hair in a roll. Pull the rest of the hair back into a low ponytail and do some heavy combing for a more avant-garde look. Finish with strong-hold hairspray. (Matrix extra-hold hairspray, $14-$15; at salons)

Makeup: Smoky shadow should be the darkest at the lashline and gradually get softer towards the crease.Use an eyeliner brush to lightly smudge the shadow on the lower lashes. Metallic copper browns, purples, silvers and charcoal grays compliment any eye color. Layer a coat of lengthening and volumizing mascara for a more dramatic eye. (wet ’n wild mega volume mascara, $2.99; at drugstores. Urban Decay smoky eye palette $36; at Sephora)
