Giants knocked out of playoffs despite season-ending win

New Yorkers will have to wait another year for the Super Bowl trophy to return to the Big Apple.
Despite a 42-7 win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the Giants were eliminated from the playoffs when the Chicago Bears defeated the Detroit Lions 26-24.
Big Blue needed to win today's game and have the Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys lose in order to get another shot at the title.
The Jets, who were eliminated from the playoffs two weeks ago, also lost their final game of the season to the Buffalo Bills 28-9.
