"Girls" star Lena Dunham responded over Twitter to recent allegations that, despite appearing in a pro-Obama ad, she did not vote in the 2012 presidential election.

"I did vote. I tried to get an absentee ballot but, because our nation's voting system is a steampunk cornmaze, it didn't arrive," she tweeted Thursday.

So, she flew in to New York and voted.

Politics blog Room Eight claimed Dunham registered to vote in Brooklyn but had not voted in the 2012 election or in any local elections since moving from TriBeCa.
