Despite a failed bid for the presidency three years ago, Rudy Giuliani didn’t rule it out Sunday when asked if he’s mulling another go in 2012.

"I have thought about it in recent weeks,” Giuliani, 66, admitted when asked on CBS’ “Face the Nation."

Giuliani was invited to talk about the deadly Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson, Ariz., which claimed six lives and nearly killed Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. When asked by host Bob Schieffer if he’s eyeing a presidential run, Giuliani didn’t expand.

The former two-term mayor of New York catapulted into national prominence as “America’s Mayor” following the 9/11 attacks and has since served as a consultant and talk show pundit.

Giuliani sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008, running on a platform of national security. But as the nation’s attention shifted to the bruised U.S. economy, Giuliani’s poll numbers worsened and he dropped out of the race after the Florida primary in January 2008.
