Google Glass banned from New Jersey casinos: Report

Add New Jersey casinos to the ever-growing list of places where Google Glass is banned.
Fearful that the eyewear device that can record videos, take photos and more could lead to a new generation of cheating, regulators have issued a directive allowing Atlantic City’s 12 casinos to ban the tech, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
“If these eyeglasses were worn during a poker game, they could be used to broadcast a patron’s hand to a confederate or otherwise be used in a collusive manner,” the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement said in the new directive, The Press of Atlantic City reported.
Under the new regulation, casinos can ban Glass from the casino floor and anywhere else gambling happens, and they can evict anyone who refuses to comply.
The ban follows a similar one in Las Vegas, where the tech is forbidden at many casinos, including Caesars Palace.
In a statement, Google said it is “thinking very carefully about how we design Glass because new technology always raises new issues.”
