Google street view now includes images of Sept. 11 memorial, Sandy areas
Google's Street View feature received a major update Wednesday that gives Internet users a better look at the Big Apple.
The tech giant's street imaging function now includes updated photos from the Sept. 11 memorial, Central Park and Sandy affected neighborhoods.
"We want people to see the damage but also show that we're resilient. The street view images show what we've been through," Google spokesman William Floyd said.
In addition to the Street View updates, Google teamed up with the non profit group Historypin to create a website where New Yorkers can share their photos of Sandy neighborhoods and their recovery.
"It allows users to put pictures of the their communities and their homes in a personal way," Floyd said.
