Gov. Cuomo assembles team to look for a new MTA chief

Cuomo has picked a team to find the MTA’s next chairman, he announced Monday, which includes politicians, current and former transit officials and straphanger advocates.
MTA head Jay Walder abruptly resigned last month to take a private-sector job in Hong Kong. He will leave in October.
Richard Sarles, Washington D.C.’s transit head, was reportedly approached to consider the post, but declined.
