New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans weekly online broadcasts to schools with updates on what the state government’s been doing, talk about the upcoming week and answers to questions.

Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto says 16 schools signed up so far.

The webcasts are to start in two weeks, though a day hasn’t been chosen yet.

The interactive webcasts, called “Albany at Work” are planned during the legislative session that runs through June. They also will be posted online.

Students can submit questions about government, which Cuomo says will be answered by him or other state officials in the effort to engage students in an active dialogue on government.

Vlasto says Thursday that other schools interested should contact the governor’s office.
