The Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, although still a hub of factories and industrial parks, is experiencing a revitalization. Proteus Gowanus is a gallery and reading room located on the Gowanus Canal is a collaborative project that aims to develop interdisciplinary exhibits of art, artifacts and books.
