Students and politicians rallied Thursday to protest Brooklyn College for hosting a lecture next week from a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel group, calling for a boycott of the forum.

"This organization is one that expresses hate, that expresses opposition to Israel," mayoral candidate Bill Thompson said at the rally, the Observer reported.

A spokesman for the school said the sponsorship of the event by its political science department does not mean an endorsement of the group's views from the college.
