While the sluggish economy is slowing the growth of retail chains in New York City, their overall numbers continue to increase, according to a study released Tuesday by the Center for an Urban Future.
The number of national retail stories in the city grew by 1.6% over the past year, a dip from the 4% growth rate between 2009 and 2010, the report shows.
