'Harlem Kevorkian' found guilty of murder

The assisted-suicide defense didn’t wash with a Manhattan Supreme Court jury, which after four hours of deliberating Thursday found the so-called “Harlem Kevorkian” guilty of murdering a Long Island motivational speaker.

Kenneth Minor, 38, faces 25 years to life in prison in the murder of Jeffrey Locker, who was found stabbed in the abdomen and strangled in his car in East Harlem two years ago.

While it wasn’t disputed that Locker, 52 and deep in debt, was trolling for an accomplice to help him kill himself so his family could collect life insurance, prosecutors contended there was more to it than a man with a death wish. Minor was given Locker’s ATM card and pin.

“This was murder for money, not a mercy killing,” said Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.
