Harlem teen killed outside community garden

A Harlem teen was shot and killed Tuesday night near his home, police said yesterday.

Juan Ortero, 15, was shot in the torso outside the Peaceful Valley community garden on East 117th Street near Madison Avenue at 9:36 p.m. He was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Ortero previously had been the victim of a shooting, when a gunman shot him in the hand a year ago, the New York Post reported.

No arrests were made yesterday.
