Health Department offering meningitis vaccines for HIV positive men

The city health department is recommending that all HIV-positive men who have had intimate contact with other men they met through websites, apps, bars, and parties" since Sept. 1 to get a meningitis vaccine.
Free vaccines are available at select city HIV clinics for those who cannot obtain vaccines from health care providers. To find a location offering the vaccines, go to nyc.gov.
The recommendation follows a spike of invasive bacterial meningococcal disease that killed one man.
