Heidi Jones gets 350 hours community service for fake rape story

An apologetic Heidi Jones, the former Eyewitness News weather caster who lied about an attempted rape in Central Park, was sentenced Wednesday to 350 hours of community service and three years probation Wednesday.
Jones, who appeared in court with a cast on her left foot, faced up to a year in jail for her ruse.
She claimed a Hispanic man jumped her while jogging in September 2010 and dragged her into the bushes, faced up to a year in jail for the false report.
Last November, she claimed she had been attacked again outside her apartment, but admitted on Dec. 13 that she had made up the stories because she was under personal and professional stress.
