Although they never quite make it to Vegas, the women of "Bridesmaids" are onto something. Why should "The Hangover" guys have all the fun? With wedding planning becoming increasingly complex, bachelorette parties offer a break from formality.
"It doesn't necessarily mean a last taste of freedom. It's simply an excuse to celebrate what, for most girls, is the biggest day of their life," says Abby Larson, founder and editor of wedding blog Style Me Pretty.
