New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, is currently the “hottest” leader in the nation, according to a survey that rates politicians’ popularity in degrees of warmth reveals.

With a score of 53.1 degrees, Christie tops the ratings of potential ’16 contender Hillary Clinton (52.1), who comes in second among rated politicians, and President Barack Obama (47.6), who comes in fourth.

The Quinnipiac University survey polled 1,468 registered voters asking them to rate major political figures on a scale of 0 to 100 degrees with higher numbers signifying warmer or more favorable attitudes and lower numbers signifying colder sentiments.

“Christie’s great strength is among independent voters, who give him 50.6 degrees of love, and Democrats, who give him 53.2 degrees,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of Quinnipiac’s Polling Institute.
